檔案館是保存社會記憶與發揮檔案價值之場所,負責檔案的收集、典藏、修復與提供使用等功能,而歷史建築則承載著建築物原有的記憶和文化,若能將檔案館與歷史建築相互結合,可使歷史建築避免面臨被拆除的命運,並再次呈現其價值,也能節省興建新檔案館的成本。 本研究旨在探討歷史建築再利用為檔案館的可行性,以文獻分析法與深度訪談法作為研究方法,先針對檔案館的空間配置與規劃、歷史建築的再利用以及歷史建築改造的評選及決策考量進行文獻探討,再透過訪談歷史建築改造之檔案館、校史館、博物館等文化機構與相關學者專家的實際經驗,探討歷史建築作為檔案館的可行性。 根據研究結果,歷史建築的價值會影響再利用的可行性,因此歷史建築再利用為檔案館時應審慎評估,讓有價值的歷史建築被保留下來,同時滿足檔案館的使用需求。本研究建議如下: 一、從歷史建築再利用之相關案例經驗學習 二、重視檔案的安全性、檔案館人員與使用者的需求 三、在建築特色與使用需求中取得平衡 四、制定完整的建築再利用政策 五、透過其他管道取得經費
Archives are places where social memories are stored, responsible for acquiring and preserving archives. If archives can combine with historic buildings, not only prevent historic buildings from being demolished, but also save construction cost of a new archive. This study aims at discussing the possibility of transforming historic buildings into archives. This study uses document analysis and in-depth interview to investigate archives space arrangement, historic building reuse, and practical experience. According to the results of the study, historic buildings’ value will influence the possibility of reuse. Therefore, it’s important to evaluate historic building’s condition in order to conserve historic building and satisfy archives’ requirements. There are five suggestions as follows: 1. Learning experience from other historic buildings reuse cases. 2. Attaching great importance to archives’ security and the need of archivists and users. 3. Strike a balance between architectural feature and requirement. 4. Formulate a complete policy of reusing historic buildings 5. Acquiring funds through other methods.
