本篇論文旨在設計描述一個白光發光二極體驅動晶片,即利用限流脈波寬度調變控制架構,來完成直流對直流升壓式轉換器。該電路架構包含有:誤差放大器、磁滯比較器、斜波產生電路、非重疊電路及電壓-電流轉換電路,並內建帶差參考電路,可同時提供參考電壓及參考電流,其中,該直流對直流升壓式轉換器晶片內建斜率補償,以防止次諧波震盪(Sub-harmonic oscillation)。 本論文共設計三顆晶片,均採用TSMC 0.35μm 2P4M互補金氧半混合信號製程完成,其中該直流對直流升壓式轉換器晶片面積為0.8918×0.917 mm2,當輸入電壓為3.3 V時,其輸出電壓為18 V及輸出電流為20 mA時,且其輸出漣波為5.98 mV,可以驅動5顆白光發光二極體,系統轉換效率達85%。
This thesis is focused on design of the white LED driving chip. By using the control structure of current-limited pulse width modulation, we can implement the boost DC-to-DC switching converter. The circuit architecture includes error amplifier, hysteresis comparator, linear ramp and oscillator generator, non-overlap circuit, and voltage to current converter. Note that the built-in bandgap reference can simultaneously support a reference voltage and a reference current. Furthermore, the boost DC-to-DC switching converter consists of the slope-compensation technique to from avoid the sub-harmonic oscillation.
