雙向移動式無線電功率放大器之模組化的設計

Design of Power Amplifier Module for a Two-way Mobile Radio

摘要


本論文提出了一個應用於雙向移動式無線對講機功率放大器之模組化的設計方式,配合周邊簡易自動功率迴路控制(Automatic power Level Control, ALC)電路與溫度保護等電路,模組化後的大小約為拾圓台幣25.7 mm × 25.7 mm大小。其中功率放大器(Power Amplifier, PA)是利用AB類偏壓方式設計出超高頻(Ultra High Frequency, UHF)頻段403 ~ 470 MHz的功率放大器。而在功率放大器的功率輸出調節依據美國電信產業聯盟(Telecommunications Industry Association, TIA) TIA-603C電源電壓10 %變動下(7.5 ± 0.75 V)輸出功率誤差能在 < 0.8 dB,附加功率效益(Power Added Efficiency, PAE)為50.9 %,諧波抑制為 > 50 dBc,FM(frequency modulation)系統的相鄰通道功率比為 > 66.2 dBc,交互調變衰減抑制比為 > 44.0 dBc;而過溫度保護電路設計於溫度高逹93 ℃時,功率放大器的模組會輸出一警示電位給數位訊號處理器(digital signal processor),以使得功率放大器的偏壓截止以保護主動元件不受高溫度損毀元件。 此功率放大器的模組設計本身就具備高輸出功率、高線性度、高效率與體積尺寸小等優點,且符合TIA-603C的規範,目前業界已開發了許多收發機模組(transceiver module)但發射機的輸出功率均約10 mW,為了縮短功率放大器電路板線路的佈局時間,只要再增加一個功率放大器的模組就可以逹成4 W收發機。

This article presents a power amplifier modular design for two-way mobile radio, with automatic power level control (ALC) circuit and temperature protection circuit, and size is about 25.7 mm × 25.7 mm. The power amplifier (PA) is designed with class AB for UHF band (403 ~ 470 MHz). The power amplifier output is adjusted based on the U.S. Telecommunications Industry Alliance (Telecommunications Industry Association, TIA) TIA-603C, the output power error can at < 0.8 dB when 10 % change in the supply voltage (7.5 ± 0.75 V), maximum power added efficiency (PAE) of 50.9 %, harmonic suppression is > 50 dBc, adjacent channel interference power ratio FM system is > 66.2 dBc, inter-modulation attenuation > 44.0 dBc; and over-temperature protection when temperature higher than 93 ℃, the PA module will output a alarm signal to DSP, and shut down the PA’s power to protect the active components.   This power amplifier module is characterized by high output power, high linearity, high efficiency, small size, and in accordance with TIA-603C standard. The industry has developed a number of transceiver modules but the transmitter output power is about 10 mW, in order to shirk the PCB layout time, as long as an additional power amplifier module can be a 4 W of transceiver.
