摘要


H.264視訊編碼標準能提供高效率的視訊壓縮,因此已成為數位電視、行動視訊、與影音串流等各項多媒體通訊服務的關鍵技術;WiMAX是一項新興的無線寬頻通訊技術,其遠距、行動、高速傳輸的特性,將能補足或取代現行的3G, 4G, 及無線區域網路技術;H.264與WiMAX的結合,將是未來行動無線寬頻網路的發展重點。本論文考量行動無線網路可能發生的封包遺失或位元錯誤,分析如何選用H.264之錯誤回復(Error Resilience)與錯誤隱藏(Error Concealment)工具,並搭配WiMAX提供之QoS機制,以提升視訊傳輸的服務品質。本論文模擬環境建構於WiMAX仿真(Emulation)系統,因此所得之最佳視訊傳輸參數,將可應用於實際佈建之WiMAX行動無線網路系統。

H.264 video coding standard, owing to its excellent compression efficiency, has become the key technology of multimedia communications such as digital television, mobile video, and video streaming. WiMAX is an emerging wireless broadband communication service. Equipped with mobility, wide coverage, and high data rate, WiMAX may complement or replace other competing communication systems such as 3G, 4G and wireless local area networks. Integrating H.264 with WiMAX is thus an important issue for the development of mobile wireless broadband networks. In this thesis, H.264 error resilience and error concealment tools are considered to combat the possible packet losses. We also incorporate the WiMAX QoS support to improve the visual quality. Because the experiments are conducted on WiMAX emulation systems, the suggested coding options obtained in this thesis can be applied to the real WiMAX networks.
