PA 6/Al2O3/ABS複合材料之熱和機械性質之研究

A Study on the Fabrication and Thermal and Mechanical Properties of PA 6/Al2O3/ABS Composites

摘要


本研究主要探討Nylon 6在原位聚合方法(In situ polymerization)中加入已矽烷偶合劑改質過後的奈米無機散熱礦石粉體Al2O3以製備其散熱複合材料,先把Al2O3利用矽烷偶合劑改質,在利用己內醯胺(ε-Caprolactam, CPL)合成PA 6之過程中,將改質無機散熱礦石粉體Al2O3加入至CPL混和均勻,再經純化、真空乾燥處理後製成PA 6/ Al2O3複合材料,再把PA 6/ Al2O3複合材料與ABS混煉做機械改性,聚醯胺與其他的聚合物共混制備聚醯胺合金可以改善聚醯胺的性能,本研究以ABS做為機械改性,以提升聚醯胺的機械性能,使其兼具PA6和ABS的優點。並改變PA 6/ Al2O3複合材料和ABS的含量進而探討不同比例的複合材料的物理性質、熱性質、機械性質與功能性質之影響。 藉由ATR-FTIR先對PA 6/ Al2O3複合材料做表面特徵官能基分析,發現添加改質後的Al2O3有出現新的官能基特性峰和造成強度增強現象,代表改質後的Al2O3有化學鍵結在PA6上,在用ATR-FTIR檢測PA 6/Al2O3/ABS複合材料化學性質之改變,發現隨著ABS含量的增加其PA6的特徵峰會減弱其ABS峰會增強;以EDS對PA 6/Al2O3/ABS複合材做元素分析,圖譜中出現Al的元素特徵峰。經由相對黏度,發現添加改質Al2O3,其相對黏度與分子量會下降;且進一步利用SEM來觀測PA 6/Al2O3/ABS複合材料中之分散狀況。在熱性質分析方面,透過TGA探討其熱裂解溫度及殘餘量間之關係,以了解其加工性質;並由DSC測試,以探討其玻璃轉移溫度(Tg)及熔點(Tm)之變化。並且對PA 6/Al2O3/ABS複合材料做拉伸與壓縮之機械性質結果進行分析,隨ABS添加量增加,使複合材料由軟而韌之特性轉為硬而強。最後利用實驗室自行設計組裝之熱溫差測試模組來評估PA 6/Al2O3/ABS複材之導熱性能及熱電偶式溫差測試系統以測試其功能性質。

In this study, the sol-gel transformation was applied to control hydrolsis and condensation reactions of the aluminum oxide inorganic powders silane coupling agent. The modified powders were added to Nylon 6 in situ polymerization to fabricate composites with better thermal properties. Afterward, the PA 6 / Al2O3 / ABS were prepared through a twin screw mixing process to enhance its mechanical properties. The effects on the chemical, mechanical and thermal properties of PA 6 / Al2O3/ABS composites were investigated. The results of ATR-FTIR analysis determined powder surface that had be coverd with silane layers in Nylon 6, and the functional group in PA 6 / Al2O3/ABS composites. From the EDS results, the featuring peak of Al was noticed. The relative viscosity and molecular weight of ABS/ PA6/ Al2O3 composites were obtained from the determination method of relative viscosity. The results showed that the relative viscosity and molecular weight of PA 6 / Al2O3/ABS composites decreased with the increasing quantity of Al2O3. Also, the surface morphology of PA 6/ Al2O3/ABS composites was conducted by SEM. As to obtain the thermal properties of ABS/ PA6/ Al2O3 composites, the decomposition temperature of composites and its relationship to the weight loss were examined by TGA. In addition, the variation in glass transition temperature (Tg) and melting temperature (Tm) were analyzed with DSC. Furthermore, the tensile property and compressibility of ABS/PA6/Al2O3 composites were studied. From the experimental results, it showed that the soft and though characteristics of such composites were turned into hard and strong while increasing the weight percentage of ABS. Finally, the thermal functional properties were analyzed by quick thermal conductivity test and thermocouple temperature testing system.
