The objective of this thesis is to design and implement digital controlled double forward converter with power factor corrector. The controller consists of two control loops. The inner loop is controlled using average current mode control to force the current following its reference to improve the power factor, and the outer loop is for voltage control to control the DC-link voltage. A double forward converter with power factor corrector has been designed and implemented. The specifications of this converter are as follows: Input voltage = 110 V/AC Output voltage = 48 V/DC Output power = 400 W Switching frequency = 100 kHz Experimental results show that the maximum efficiency is 83.5% and power factor is 0.99.
