醣類在生物體的新陳代謝中扮演著十分重要的角色,醣類在自然界中含量非常的豐富且是生物體內重要的成份之一,常應用於藥物,生物材料等領域。木醣(xylose)屬於五碳糖,取得方便,可以從農產品的廢棄物(如棉花的外皮,玉米的穗桿等)中提取。近年來環保意識抬頭,綠色化學已儼然成為下一個世紀要重要產業,在環境資源有限的情況下,如何應用廢棄物及開發出不造成環境負擔的環境友好產品是一個十分重要的議題。本實驗把木醣先反應接上保護基,再利用一系列的反應使木醣接上鹵素—碘(好的離去基),最後脫去保護基再利用可回收水溶性配位基在乾淨,無毒,取得方便的水溶液中利用鈀金屬進行鈴木反應(Suzuki cross-couplings reaction)成功合成數個衍生物,皆有不錯的產率。並期望其化合物能應用於生物體中。而且催化劑可重覆使用,十分環保。
The carbohydrate plays an important role in the metabolism of organisms. It is very plentiful in the nature and also is one kind of important component of the organisms. It is usually applied in drugs, biological materials and other fields. Xylose is one of pentoses. It is easy to be gathered from agricultural wastes (ex: cotton jacket, corn stalk, etc.) In recent years, people pay more attention to the environmental protection. Green chemistry will become an important industry in the next century. Since the resources are finite, how to reuse wastes and develop environment-friendly products without causing waste and environmental burden is a very important issue. Our experiment uses xylose to connect protective groups, followed by carrying on a series of reactions to incorporate an iodine atom, which is a good leaving group. It finally removes protective groups and uses recycled water-soluble ligand in the clear, nontoxic, easy-get water solution to carry on Suzuki cross-couplings reaction with palladium to successfully synthesize several derivatives. The yields are good. We hope that the compounds can be applied in organisms, and we also hope that the catalyst can be reused. It is very environment-friendly.
