即時通訊文字訊息對話特性

Characteristics of Instant Text Messaging.

摘要


使用者介面設計(User Interface Design)一直是產品在開發軟體介面時很重要的一環。一般在進行產品軟體介面設計時都會將就於產品本身螢幕大小,目前中文訊息軟體多半由國外開發轉由國內翻譯而成,然而中文文字訊息介面操作時文字字數呈現需求,以及文字敘述時的口語特性尚待更多研究及數據。本研究擷取16位即時通訊使用者,並統計出共5,045行序即時通訊文字訊息對話記錄,訊息分類統計後發現下列特性: (1)使用者在不受限視窗大小及文字字數狀態下,平均單行使用6 (5.64)個中文字元;完整對話段落平均為2行(1.84行);每行回應時間平均為6.86秒。(2)標點符號占總字元數36.71%,使用者即使進行非正式的文字交談,仍會使用大量的標準符號來輔助文字敘述。(3)文字訊息對話時會以在字後加入重複的「標點符號」加強語氣表現,占總行序的12.58%。(4)在進行文字訊息對話時,多數使用者僅修正輸入錯誤或無法辨識的字元,而非整段敘述重打。

User Interface Design has long been an important part of products in terms of developing software interface. In general, most of the software interface design is tailored for the monitor size of the product. Currently, most of the Chinese text messaging software is translated from foreign product into localization. Nonetheless the number of Chinese characters for the Chinese messaging interface operation appears in high demand while the oral characteristics of text description requires further research and data. The study selected 16 instant messaging users and collected a total of records for 5,045 instant text messaging conversation. The messages were analyzed statistically with the following characteristics: (1)The users in average use 6 (5.64) Chinese characters for each row while the integral conversation paragraph consists of 2 rows (1.84 rows) without the restriction of window size and the number of texts. The average response time of each row is 6.86 seconds.(2)The punctuations account for 36.71% of the total characters; even if the users carry out informal conversation, they still use a number of punctuations to assist with text description.(3)Adding repeated “punctuations” in text messaging to stress the tone accounts for 12.58%.(4)When carrying out text messaging, most users merely correct error or unidentifiable character rather than re-keying the entire paragraph.
