應用於雲端運算的品質感知服務繞送閘道器

Design of a Quality-Aware Service Routing Gateway for Cloud Computing

摘要


雲端運算(Cloud Computing)是目前最受關注的資訊應用服務,以虛擬化技術將眾多硬體運算資源整合成一個強大的虛擬應用環境,讓用戶端可以依據自己的需求在任何時刻配置適當的運算資源。雖然,雲端運算提供動態資源調配機制以低成本方式解決企業對於尖峰及離峰時期所需的運算資源。在此機制下,服務提供者會在不同的網路位置上提供服務,而用戶端必須即時的取得現有運算資源的資訊,並在眾多同質性的服務提供者中選取品質較佳的服務,造成用戶端與服務端之連結管理複雜度上升。 本論文提出一種「品質感知服務繞送閘道器」設計,建置於使用者與服務提供者間,透過服務閘道器的監控與效能評估功能,協助用戶端獲取品質較佳的服務提供者。此外,本研究除探討「品質感知服務繞送閘道器」的學理基礎與設計方法外,更進一步提出「中華電信新世代維運支援系統」與「公共電視數位片庫系統」的實際應用案例。藉由「品質感知服務繞送閘道器」的品質導向服務篩選與動態訊息繞送功能,除提供系統提高服務品質外,也具備良好的擴充性,以應付各種商業需求的變動。由於「品質感知服務繞送閘道器」的創新設計,使中華電信與公共電視提升日常維運效率,奠定未來成長動能,樹立電信維運支援系統與媒體數位片庫系統之典範。

Cloud computing has received significant attention recently in many areas of information technology. It typically involves the provision of dynamically scalable and often virtualized resources as services over the Internet. As a result, computing resources can be allocated on demand. Although users may request resources on demand in cloud computing, the resources, however, are still limited. How to utilize the computing resource effectively is therefore an important issue. For general application, the service provider needs provide satisfactory services during peak traffic, they would have to. However, 60% of the whole resources are put to idle for off-peak operation. Apparently, the resource utilization has room to be further improved. A service gateway is proposed in this research to maximize the resource utilization. This service gateway optimizes the routing path based on the usage of the computing resources. It not only ensures the quality of service for each customer but also enables maximized effectiveness of the IT resource. The underlying research for this dissertation can be divided into several tasks such as constructing the message delivery infrastructure, designing cloud service registry and repository, developing cloud service monitoring mechanism, offering the optimized routing strategy and so on. The service gateway helps the client to connect the high quality server. It also collects the information about resource usage and evaluates the performance from each server to determine optimized routing strategy. The result of this research improves the effectiveness of IT resource usage and lowers the cost of IT investing.
