隨著數位電視服務的興起,除了發展傳送數位化的影音內容之外,還可透過電視廣播系統傳送應用程式提供互動加值服務。歐洲DVB組織的互動平台DVB-MHP技術發展已相當成熟,主要是利用MPEG-2傳輸串流中的DSM-CC輪播技術重複播放互動資訊,但受制於頻寬以及輪播技術的特性,影響啟動速度並且使用的過程中也會造成延遲,而啟動時間和延遲時間當中,大部分的時間是花於等待輪播至所需的檔案,可能因此降低用戶使用的意願。本論文將結合文獻所證實的有利改善技巧,並透過馬可夫鏈模型描述多場景架構的程式,估計出於各場景實際傳輸該有的重複配置量,在保證能有低啟動時間和低延遲時間下,產生出最佳的輪播串流。同時亦將所提出的改進技巧實作於DVB-MHP互動應用程式製作工具和串流產生器之中,並將輪播串流送至MHP機上盒進行驗證功能。
With the rapid growth of digital television technology, TV operators can now deliver applications for interactive services via television broadcasting system. DVB-MHP standard defines the delivery of interactive applications using DSM-CC Carousel for the purpose of periodical transmission. Since the transport stream carries multiple services, the bandwidth allocated for the applications becomes limited. As a result, the application delivery time and start-up time in the receivers could be painfully slow. This thesis uses Markov chain model with the proposed multi-shot framework for MHP applications. Some modified literature approaches are combined to generate the optimal carousel stream, which repeats the shots in a way ensuring low starting time and low average delay time..The proposed optimal carousel stream generator is implemented on our DVB-MHP authoring tool. The experiment demonstrates that the carousel streams delivered to the MHP set-top box can work considerably effectively.
