Research and Development of Auto-Adjusting Pliers

摘要


本研究針對現有管鉗、夾持工具之各種相關研究資料,其中包括學術期刊及專利公報加以蒐集整理與分析,定義自動調整鉗在夾持工件時之操作流程,及各階段之作動狀態,依據管鉗的連桿機構去區分,最後再依年代及地區的特性做進一步的交叉分析,以作為日後自動調整鉗改良的參考方向。 根據本研究搜集之文獻可以發現,自動調整鉗在夾持工件時,握把的距離會因工件直徑的增加而變大,而掣動塊與棘齒的嚙合時間則對此一結果產生影響,一般棘齒的齒距設計皆設為定數,因此,當掣動塊與棘齒產生嚙合,也就決定了握把的間距,而本研究所設計之棘齒裝置,在節距的設計上改為漸進式加大之節距,如此之設計,可延遲掣動塊與棘齒的嚙合時間,使握把之間距縮小,而在零件之數目方面,則為利用一雙扭簧取代一般設計上所使用的滑槽及剛性元件,來簡化設計,使成本降低、縮短裝配之時間,另外,在鉗口的開口方向也做了一些改變,本設計使鉗口之開口方向與握把之方向一致,使掣動塊的移動方向與滑槽方向趨近平行,當上握把在繞著虛擬支點作旋轉運動時,需有更多的旋轉角度來使掣動塊與棘齒產生嚙合,因此,在操作上導致握把之間距縮小,使操作者手部能有較佳之舒適度。

This research collects and analyzes all kinds of auto-adjusting pliers obtained from journal papers and patent publications. All literatures were classified according to their adjusting mechanisms. This paper points out the development tendency of the auto-adjusting pliers in the aspects of their publishing dates and areas and provides excellent references to the design of future auto-adjusting pliers. From the collected documentations for this research, when the Auto-Adjusting Pliers clamping the object, the distance between handles will be increased due to the increasing diameter of object, and the time to engage between pawl and ratchet will have effect on the result, generally the distance between teeth of ratchet is designed in fixed factor, thus, when the pawl and ratchet are engaging, also deciding the distance between handles, and the design of ratchet device of this research, changes the design of pitch to Progressive pitch, such design, can delay the engage time of pawl and ratchet, and reduce the distance between handle, and as for the number of parts, by using twin torsion spring instead of slot and rigid component of common design to simplify the design, and reduce the cost and shorten assembling time, meanwhile, also modify the direction of the pliers jaws in the full open position, this design makes the direction of the pliers jaws in the full open position consistent with handle, and the motion direction of pawl approaches to be paralleled with slot, when the upper handle is moving around the virtual fulcrum, needs more turning angel to engage pawl with ratchet, therefore, to reduce the distance between handles while operation, and make the operator’s hand have better comfort.
