建構相位調變和直接檢測光纖有線電視傳輸系統

摘要


高視訊品質的光纖有線電視傳輸系統已成為整個有線電視產業普遍的需求。本論文中,我們提出不同的有線電視傳輸系統,其目的都是為了提高有線電視傳輸系統的質量及降低成本。 在第一個架構中,我們利用光纖有線電視傳輸系統使用相位調變(phase modulation;PM)和直接檢測架構,降低系統引起的雜訊及失真。再與使用了強度調變的光纖有線電視系統架構相比,我們所提出的系統,再經過100公里單模光纖傳輸之後,還是可以得到性能較優良的載波雜訊比(CNR)、載波合成二次拍差比(CSO)以及載波合成三次拍差比(CTB)。 在第二個架構中,我們提出與實驗一個雙向相位調變混合式有線電視/微波光纖(CATV/RoF)傳輸系統。利用光纖光柵傾斜濾波達到相位調變轉換強度調變的效果。我們所提出的系統,再經過40公里單模光纖(SMF)以及1.43公里光子晶體光纖(PCF)傳輸之後,還是可以得到性能優良的CNR、CSO以及CTB。 我們所提出的系統不使用複雜且價格昂貴的延遲干涉儀(DI)。因此,本系統除了可以降低系統的建構成本之外,亦可以有效的簡化整體光纖有線電視傳輸系統的複雜性。

High video quality requirement for fiber optical CATV transport systems has becoming widespread throughout the cable industry. In this dissertation, we proposed different CATV transport systems. For our purposed is to improve the quality of CATV transport system and reduce the cost. In the first structure, we use a fiber optical CATV transport system employing phase modulation (PM) and direct-detection schemes to reduce noise and distortion induced by systems. In contrast to a fiber optical CATV transport system that used a conventional intensity modulation scheme, excellent performances of CNR, CSO, and CTB are obtained in our proposed systems over a 100-km single-mode fiber transmission. In the second structure a bidirectional phase-modulated hybrid cable television/radio-over-fiber lightwave transport system employing fiber Bragg grating tilt filter as a phase modulation-to-intensity modulation conversion scheme is proposed and demonstrated. Impressive performances of carrier-to-noise ratio, composite second-order, composite triple-beat, and bit-error rate are obtained in our proposed systems over a combination of 40 km single-mode fiber-and 1.43 km photonic crystal fiber transmission. Our proposed system does not use sophisticated and expensive delay interferometer (DI). Therefore, the system not only can reduce the construction cost of the system, but also be employed to simplify the optical fiber CATV transmission system.
