雲端虛擬機器即時遷移平衡策略之研究

摘要


由於網際網路的不斷發展演進,近幾年雲端運算已成為熱門的研究議題。藉由雲端虛擬機器即時遷移的能力,使得雲端資料中心的資源使用率能夠大幅的提升。目前大部分即時遷移策略的目標都是盡量減少系統的負載與改善系統的整體效能。不過,這些即時遷移策略有可能導致遷移優先權較高的虛擬機器產生飢餓問題。 本篇論文提出了一些虛擬機器即時遷移的平衡策略,除了考慮虛擬機器遷移的效率之外,也同時處理了虛擬機器的飢餓問題。模擬實驗的結果顯示,與現存的即時遷移策略比較起來,我們所提的方法除了具有較佳的效能之外,也比較能夠避免虛擬機器飢餓問題的發生。

As the Internet continues to evolve, cloud computing has become a hot research topic during recent years. The capability of virtual machine (VM) migration enables a very high utilization of resources in data center. The aim of most live migration strategies is to reduce system overload and improve overall performance. However, these live migration strategies can lead to starvation of VMs with high migration priorities. This thesis proposes some balancing strategies for VM live migration which consider performance for VM migration and handle starvation of VMs. The results of simulation show that our proposed strategies achieve much better performance and have more capability to avoid possible starvation than existing ones.
