具乙太網路埠位偵測之光纖到宅供裝系統設計

Design and Implementation of FTTB Provision System Based on Ethernet Port Detection

摘要


隨著匯流(Triple Play)趨勢與被動光纖網路(Passive Optical Network;PON)技術之問世與普及,光纖到宅(Fiber to the Building;FTTB)將變得經濟可行,也為寬頻業者帶來一線曙光。將乙太網路應用於FTTB供裝上必須搭配多種網路協定以實作出可靠的服務供裝。透過如虛擬區域網路(Virtual Local Area Network;VLAN)、乙太網路點對點通訊協定(Point to Point Protocol over Ethernet;PPPoE)、遠端用戶撥入認證服務(Remote Authentication Dial In User Service;RADIUS)等技術的導入與配置設定整合,才能保障供裝作業的正確運作。另外,採用乙太網路交換器的供裝方式,其設備與用戶間之關係,並不像纜線數據機(Cable Modem;CM)或非對稱數位用戶迴路(Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Loop;ADSL)數據機,多維持一對一的關係,而是一對多的關係,這使得供裝作業必須要維護設備的供裝埠(Port)位與客戶間的關係,避免對應錯誤導致龐大處理成本的產生而損及企業形象。本論文藉歸納FTTB供裝作業之需求與相關文獻探討,提出一種結合簡單網路管理協定(Simple Network Management Protocol;SNMP)偵測乙太網路埠位的方式,設計出可達到供裝埠位即插即開的FTTB供裝系統,並進行埠位偵測在供裝效能上的分析評估。

As Triple Play progressively defines the modern telecommunication service, and with the introduction of Passive Optical Networking (PON) technology, Fiber to the Building (FTTB) becomes increasingly economical and viable to implement and has turned into an area of new opportunities and growth for broadband operators. For FTTB to work with Ethernet, it will require a seamless synergy among various Internet protocols in order for FTTB to be a reliable service. It must integrate and setup protocols such as Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN), Point to Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE), and Remote Authentication Dial In User Service (RADIUS), in order to ensure the successful design and operation of such provision. Unlike the one-to-one relationship between equipment and user for Cable Modem (CM) or Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Loop (ADSL) modem, Ethernet uses one-to-many for data transmission with the users, which requires closer management and maintenance of ports. Any mismatch in activation or customer installation may incur significant cost for the company. Based on the paper survey and provision requirements summarized, this paper will discuss the integration of Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) based port detection method for FTTB provision system to achieve provision port plug and activation function, and will further evaluate its port detection efficiency.
