本文研究將聚氧乙烯改質,合成BP6及BP5分枝狀結構且具有PEO為主鏈段的高分子,具有低臨界溶解溫度(LCST),在加熱條件下水溶液會有霧點(CP)的產生。實驗中加入不同鹽離子:氯化鈉、氯化鉀、磷酸二氫鈉、磷酸二氫鉀,藉由光穿透、粒徑分析、黏度測量方法來測量霧點。結果發現,霧點溫度會因為高分子組成及鹽類種類及濃度不同而有所變化,加入鹽類可使霧點溫度下降至37℃以下,顯示聚氧乙烯分枝狀高分子/鹽/水系統具有潛力的作為生醫材料應用。經Flory-Huggins model分析發現,溶劑和溶質之間的交互作用參數值會隨著鹽濃度、高分子疏水性增加,其值會變的越大。
Cloud points (CPs) of the phase separation of aqueous solution of branched polyethylene oxide (PEO), sample BP5, or BP6, that have a lower critical solution temperature (LCST), under heating process were determined by using light transmission, dynamic light scattering, and viscometry methods. It was found that the temperature of CP was dependent on the concentration of polymer and salts: NaCl, KCl, NaH2PO4, and KH2PO4. The CP temperature could be reduced to be lower than 37oC with addition of salt. It implies that the branched PEO/water/salt system has potential for medical application. Furthermore, the interaction parameter between solvent and solute was estimated by a modified Flory-Huggins model.
