OTFT在可撓式顯示器技術發展趨勢之探討

摘要


可撓式顯示器輕薄、貼身與攜帶方便,且材料趨向可塑性與低造價,是平面顯示器的前瞻性發展產品。目前已開發出多種新型的可撓式顯示器之科技原型產品,在技術發展的考量上以有機薄膜電晶體(Organic Thin Film Transistors ,OTFT)驅動的有機電激發光(OLED)顯示器的發展機會較大;其中主要的關鍵組件是有機薄膜電晶體。因此本文乃透過OTFT元件之相關專利分析其材料與製程,以探討OTFT元件的研發策略。本文以WIPS軟體作為研究工具,針對美國專利商標局的資料庫,檢索範圍之關鍵字有“Organic Thin Film Transistors , OTFT , Flexible display, roll-able display, electronic paper ”等。研究結果為: 一、OTFT元件在專利技術方面重視絕緣層、半導體通道層與金屬導電特性。在專利功效方面重視元件特性、製程容易度、成本與可靠度。 二、OTFT元件的專利技術目前正處於技術生命週期中的成長期。 三、各競爭廠商如何做好OTFT元件中的半導體通道層並應用在印刷製程將是持續研發的重點。 利用專利技術面與專利經營面之分析比較建構出OTFT元件在可撓性顯示器產業發展方向,最後依分析結果針對OTFT元件等關鍵技術方面提出具體建議,希望藉由本文研究能對OTFT元件在可撓性顯示器產業的應用具有實體貢獻。

The flexible display is a light and thin display with the property of patch pocket, carries conveniently, its material trends elastic and lower manufacturing cost, it is the foresighted development product on flat panel display. At present, there have been developed several prototype of products in flexible display. OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diodes) with OTFT as a switching device should have a higher opportunity in the technological development consideration; the key component is the organic thin film transistor (OTFT). Therefore this article is through the related OTFT’s patent studying and analyzing to find out OTFT’s strateies of research and development. This article uses the WIPS software for the studying tool and in view of the Unite State Patent and Trademark Office's data bass, the keywords of searching are included "organic thin film transistors, OTFT, flexible display, roll-able display, electronic paper" and so on. The findings are: 1. In the technology aspect of the OTFT’s patent, these competitors forcus on insulator、semiconductor channel layer、and metallic conductive characteristic. In the effect aspect of the OTFT’s patent, these competitors forcus on device characteristics、easy processing、cost and reliability; 2. At present, the OTFT’s patent technology is being the growing of technical life cycle; 3. How does OTFT’s device been doing well in semiconductor channel layer and how to implement the layer by printing process will be the key points of research in continuously.
