The study was to enhance density and hardness of the MIMs’ SUS-316L products (Metal-powder Injection Molding) to improve its appearance and mechanical function for applications. In the SUS-316L powder are added silicon content of 0, 2.5, and 5 wt%, and setting 1275, 1300 and 1325?C for sintering. After sintering, these samples measure density and hardness for mechanical functions. Metallographic analysis will use XRD and EDS to assist phase observation. The results showed that silicon dopant enhanced density and hardness of SUS-316L samples with increasing sintering temperature; through metallographic analysis, silicon dopant to SUS-316L found microstructure changes: σ phase was uniformly precipitate on the γ phase grain boundary. The phase can helps SUS-316L improved mechanical properties for more application.
