Optimization of Soft Handover Parameters for UMTS Networks

摘要


先前論文介紹藉由調整time to trigger in Event 1A及time to trigger in Event 1B兩個相同數值的軟交遞參數對於軟交遞機率和系統故障機率影響。但是他們並未考慮電信業者最關心的斷話率問題。因此我們提出time to trigger in Event 1A及time to trigger in Event 1B調整成不同數值的方案。實際測試結果顯示斷話率調整後優於先前論文而軟交遞機率和區塊失誤率相似於先前論文。

The previous papers present the impact of soft handover parameters on soft handover probability and outage probability, by tuning time to trigger in Event 1A and time to trigger in Event 1B to be equal. But they didn’t consider drop rate that operators care most. Therefore, we propose scheme by tuning the different values on time to trigger in Event 1A and time to trigger in Event 1B. The field test results show that the drop rate is better than previous papers and the soft handover rate and block error rate is about the same as previous papers.
