含三吡啶結構之共聚物合成與其金屬螯合性質

Synthesis and Metal-chelating Properties of Copolymers Containing Terpyridine Moieties

摘要


本實驗合成4’苯環取代2,2’:6’,2’’-三吡啶(2,2’:6’,2’’-Terpyridine)的乙烯單體(VTPy),將其與市售的對乙烯苯磺酸鈉(SSS)利用不同比例進行共聚合,利用2,2’-偶氮二異丁腈(AIBN)為起始劑進行自由基聚合反應,依照單體入料比例不同進而製得側鏈含三吡啶與苯磺酸鈉隨機排列結構的共聚高分子,並且探討其物理性質、熱性質、光學性質及金屬螯合能力等。在溶解度方面,隨著苯磺酸鈉結構的增加,其對水的溶解性越好,成功合成出水溶性之含三吡啶的高分子(PTPY25)。PTPY25的固有黏度為0.689 dL/g,其玻璃轉移溫度(Tg)在182 ℃,氮氣下5%及10%熱裂解溫度分別為412℃及420℃。對於過渡金屬(Cu2+、Hg2+、Zn2+、Ru2+)在純水中的UV-vis圖譜中,可以發現滴加Cu2+、Hg2+、Zn2+、Ru2+後原本位於287nm的最大吸收峰逐漸驟息,而在330nm會有新的吸收峰出現。特別的是滴加Ru2+金屬在0.66當量至1.0當量時會有沉澱的現象,此現象顯示合成出含三吡啶及對-苯磺酸鈉共聚高分子對Ru2+金屬有相當的選擇性,可以將其應用在廢水處理的重金屬回收。

We synthesized a terpyridine-containing monomer 4'-(4-vinylphenyl)- 2,2':6',2'-terpyridine (VTPy). The free radical copolymerizations of the new monomer and 4-styrenesulfonic acid sodium salt were initiated by 2,2'-azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN). The random copolymers with pendent terpyridine and sulfonic acid sodium salt functional groups were polymerized by different feed ratios. The physical properties, thermal properties, optical properties, metal-chelating ability and solubility of the polymers were investigated and discussed. The polymers PTPY25 showed excellent water-solubility. The polymers with higher sulfonic acid sodium salt contents had better solubility. The polymers exhibited inherent viscosity of 0.689 dL/g and glass transition temperatures at 182℃, the temperatures at 5% and 10% weight loss were 412℃ and 420℃, respectively, under nitrogen. Regarding the colorimetric determination of transition metal (Cu2+、Hg2+、Zn2+、Ru2+) in the pure water, we found that maximum absorption band at 287 nm decreases in gradual with increasing concentration of transition metal ion, while a new absorption band appears at 330 nm. Especially, addition of Ru2+ metal equivalent during 0.66 to 1.0 caused precipitation phenomenon. It has a higher selectivity for Ru2+ ions and is able to be applied to metal-recovery in waste water treatment.
