Blue light storage media will become the most attractive focus in next generation of optical memory. Narrower track pitch, and shortened 405nm wavelength blue light laser have been utilized to increase the storage density. In this study, the blue light rewritable recording material will be discussed. Through doping small amount of Bismuth to substitute Antimony, the crystallization of speed can be accelerated in the pseudo-binary GeSb-Sb2Te3 alloy film. The thermal properties, optical characteristics, microstructure, crystal structure, and writing signal performance of blue laser disc made by Bi-added phase change materials will be discussed with various additions of Bi.
