石花菜對餵予高膽固醇飲食SD大鼠脂質代謝之影響

摘要


高脂血症是目前台灣高盛行率的一種疾病,其與血管相關疾病關係密切,因此若能藉由飲食控制脂質代謝以避免高脂血症,可能可降低許多相關疾病的發生。文獻指出海藻具調控脂質代謝之作用,其中石花菜 (Gelidium amansii, Ga)為生長於台灣東北角之紅藻,雖傳言其具不同功能如減重、降血脂等,但相關科學文獻有限,故本實驗利用動物模式來探討Ga對於血脂調控之影響。在以AIN-76為基礎的高膽固醇飲食 (1 %)餵予SD大鼠的同時,於飲食中補充低 (2%)、中 (5%)和高 (8%)三種劑量的Ga乾燥粉末,經餵食十週後測量大鼠血液、肝臟與糞便中的脂肪相關指標。結果顯示在高膽固醇飲食與2 %與8 %石花菜同時介入下,具提高血液總膽固醇、血液三酸甘油酯和極低密度脂蛋白膽固醇濃度,8 %石花菜亦同時提高血清高密度脂蛋白膽固醇濃度,5 %石花菜則增加肝臟總膽固醇含量。因此乾燥石花菜粉末的給予,可使餵予高膽固醇飲食之SD大鼠提高血清膽固醇與三酸甘油酯濃度,同時亦會使肝臟膽固醇含量增加。

Hyperlipidemia is a high prevalent disease in Taiwan, and it is closely related to angiocardiopathy. Preventing hyperlipidemia through controlling lipid metabolism with ordinary diet, the occurrence associated with the hyperlipidemia would be decreased. Many studies show that seaweed possesses lipid regulatory effects. Gelidium amansii (Ga), a red agale cultivated in Northeastern coast of Taiwan, has been indicated to have many beneficial effects in folk therapy, but the scientific evidences is limited. This study was aimed at studying the effects of Ga on lipid profile in Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats fed with high cholesterol diet. The rats (n = 50) were randomly assigned into 5 groups: normal control diet group (NC), high cholesterol diet group (HC), and 2 %, 5 % and 8 % dose Ga diet groups (LG, MG, HG). After the animals were fed with different diets for 10 weeks, the lipid profile of serum, liver and feces were measured. The results showed that Ga had no effect on body weight or dietary intake. However, 2 % and 8 % Ga increased serum concentration of total cholesterol (TC), triacylglycerol (TG) and very low density lipoprotein cholesterol (VLDL-c), 8 % Ga also increased high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-c), and 5 % Ga increased liver TC contents in rats fed with high cholesterol diet. In conclusion, Ga increased serum concentration of TC and TG in SD rats fed with high cholesterol diet, and it also increased liver TC contents.
