This study starts from the angle of industrial engineer- ing systems. Probing first into the characteristics of the properties of small-quantity job-order production and main raw material that has life cycles. After analyzing and reviewing usual inventory ordering tacics, and then looking from the point of view of cost, i.e. ordering cost, Purchas- ing cost, carrying cost, and overkeeping cost for inventoy, a cost function is established. With the objective of minimizing this target cost function, and using dynamic programming method as the basis while assisted by the branch -and-bound technique,an optimum ordering tactics is sought out. Subsequently, by virtue of supply and demand forecast- ing, management of receiving and dispatching, and control of purchasing, an operation system structure and comprehensive operation management system are proposed. Finally, through actual examples to verify of the operat- ion processes, an important strategic reference for the selection of main raw material inventory ordering tactics that has life cycles that meets the conditions for quick- response, diversified, small-quantity, job-order production is provided.
