摘要
在本研究中，我們發展一個可以提供群體間共享文件、分享意見、和共同 創作文件的整合環境；而為了使成員的意見表達和溝通有更多元化的表現 方式，本研究整合了多媒體在上述群體文件中，這些媒體包含文字、圖形 、影像（image）、聲音、視訊（video）及動畫（animation）；另外本 研究允許文件作者在文件編輯時，將時間因素與文件內容單元相結合，以 製作出一份時間相依多媒體文件（Time Dependent Multimedia Documents；TDMD），使得文件有更生動和完整的展現能力，在此我們解 決了多媒體展現時各媒體間同步的問題。我們也設計了超鏈結（hyper- link）功能，可以支援成員在文件中加註、或使得文件的展現流程可以動 態改變。這個網路上多人同時/不同時多媒體文件編輯器，名為 MM- Edit 。另外在本研究中我們設計了一個具一般性而又簡單、容易使用的多媒體 文件架構，以配合本研究前述各項功能之達成，並且提供操作該文件架構 的應用程式介面（Application Programming Interface； API），使我 們的文件架構具有高度之再使用性。

In this research, we have designed and implemented a tool － MM- Edit which offers a distributed environment for a team to co- author a document with multimedia and hyperlink flavor. It allows the integration of text, graphics, images, audio, video and animations. Users of MM-Edit can also share ideas with all online co-authoring team members. An MM-Edit document can have time-dependent features so that it allows media being synchronized during its presentation. Instead of dealing with the complexity of ODA or SGML&HyTime, we propose a simpler multimedia document architecture facilitating our research. And by offering a set of APIs to manipulate that document architecture, reusability is assured. A programmer can be relieved from the burden of learning the detail of the proposed document architecture.
