In recent years, the high-rise commercial buildings increased rapidly in Taiwan. Due to its broad floor areas, the population flow in and out of these buildings are more complex and of high density than the common residential buildings. It will make the difficulties for persons escape as well as fire-fighting rescues. In addition to people’s incorrect fire prevention concept and lack of refuge knowledge, there are often caused damages of properties and lives during fires. This study uses the CFAST zone model to simulate fire scenario for inspecting the menace of fire. Different fire conditions such as ignited floor and location sites, installed ventilation and sprinkle systems, changes of décor materials have been discussed to analyze the temperature, air-layer height and the distribution of gas/smoke concentration under various environments. The results expect to understand the effect of impact parameters to the persons escape during the fire accident.
