整合數種不同的無線網路存取技術,可以讓所有使用者依據他們的需求來切換存取技術。使用者也可以期待高穩定度和服務品質保證。在異質性無線網路中,為了支援多種應用程式的不同服務品質需求,有效的資源管理(resource management strategy)、連線允許控制機制(call admission control) 和行動管理方法(mobility management)是重要議題。在本篇論文中,我們著重在討論全球微波存取互通技術(WiMAX)和無線網路高傳真技術(Wi-Fi);因為這兩種存取技術在現今是最有實用價值的技術,例如台北無線城市。我們提出的資源管理機制,包含了允許控制、針對即時服務的資源保留機制和模糊控制來調整即時服務頻寬調整和資源保留機制的參數。
To integrate a diverse number of wireless access technologies is facing more and more challenge heterogeneous networks is all users are able to switch different access technologies according to their demands. Users also expect high reliability and QoS guarantees. In order to support multiple types of applications with different QoS requirements, efficient resource management, call admission control strategies, mobility management and overflow handoff call are important issues in heterogeneous wireless networks. In this paper, we focus our discussion on WiMAX and Wi-Fi since the integration of these 2 kinds of access technology is more and more practical in nowadays, like Taipei-WiFly city. We proposed resource management strategy which includes the admission control, resource reservation mechanism for real-time services and Fuzzy controllers for adjusting bandwidth of real-time service and parameters of resource reservation mechanism.
