本研究是利用日本Shintech公司的光學模擬軟體LCD Master探討多區域垂直配列型液晶顯示器的結構參數設計以及光學特性的模擬分析,包括液晶層厚度、凸塊設計、相位差與驅動電壓等等參數的改變,透過有限元素分析法,針對穿透度、輝度、視角及對比等顯示特性做比較,達到結構上的最佳化,根據模擬結果,得知垂直配列型液晶顯示器在灰階顯示時會有偏藍色的情形,且控制相位差值在320nm會有最佳的顯示品質。接著再根據結構參數設計光學補償膜,降低色偏與液晶層在傾斜方向漏光的問題,達到提高對比度及廣視角的顯示特性,使液晶顯示器有更佳的顯示品質,進而在實際應用上有所幫助。
In this work, the structure and optical properties of the multi-domain vertical alignment liquid crystal display were analyzed by using LCD Master software from Shintech, Inc in Japanese. The parameters Including thickness of cell gap, protrusion design, retardation value and drive voltage. Using Finite Element Method to compare transmittance, luminance, polar angle and contrast ratio, to get the best structure. According to these results, we can know the retardation value at the 320nm has better display quality, but vertical alignment liquid crystal display have color-shift problem. Then, we reduced light leak of the larger viewing angle and improve color-shift problem using the compernsation film, to achieve enhance contrast ratio and wide view angle display, to provide useful application aspect.
