摘要
文字與社會發展的關係密切，文字詞彙的內容可以反映時代社會生活的現象，透過它們的變化，我們可以看到文化的特徵及其變遷。字書是系統匯編文字、詞語，總結、保存、揚播民族文化的書，它以緊縮的體積薈萃文化。本文共分六章：第一章為緒論。略述文字與文化的關係，以及漢字所反映的文化底蘊，及當前相關研究概況、本文研究依據、取材原則與研究方法。第二章：《說文》中的飲食文化內涵。以《說文》中收羅的與飲食有關的字為語料，試圖觀察漢代的飲食風貌，並進而探討促使食品多樣，食物資源運用的狀況。 第三章：《說文》中的服飾文化意涵。本章分成官方禮服與一般日常生活服裝作兩方面討論，對《說文》中所記錄的有關服裝的樣式、佩飾與服裝顏色等資料，所反映的文化意涵作一討論。 第四章：《說文》中的建築文化意涵。本章就《說文》中所記錄的有關建築的語料：從居住的基本單位，到專門用途的屋舍建築等先民在居住空間的成長歷程的線索作分析。第五章：《說文》中的交通文化意涵。本章就《說文》中所蒐羅有關道路的異稱及類型、車輛的種類和結構及對舟船的紀錄的語料，討論《說文》中所建構出的中國交通網絡。第六章：結論。綜合各章研究，呈現以文字為文化史上某些課題做印證所獲致的成果。

The writing and the social development relations are close. The writing glossary content may reflect the time social life the phenomenon，penetrates their change，we may see the culture the characteristic and the vicissitude. The dictionary is the system assembly writing, the words and expressions, summarizes, the preservation, raises broadcasts the national culture the book. It reduces volume record culture. This article altogether is divided six chapters：First chapter is the introduction，Tells in brief the writing and the cultural relations. Second chapter is the diet culture connotation. Third chapter is clothing culture connotation. Fourth chapter is the building cultural connotation. Fifth chapter is the transportation culture connotation. Sixth chapter is the conclusion，synthesizes each chapter of research.
