以遠距連線Kinect體感電玩發展新一代高齡者關懷互動平台之研究

摘要


隨著時代快速變遷,以及工作機會與環境的影響,台灣家庭逐漸轉變為小家庭制度,高齡者往往由於子女到外地工作等因素而被迫獨居,導致高齡者與親人子女接觸的機會少後,容易造成心理的孤獨(Solitude)感。為了減緩高齡者心理的孤獨感,與子女進行遠距互動溝通是有其必要性的,遠距互動溝通可讓子女晚輩與長者相互溝通,分享即時的生活與心情,降低高齡者孤獨感。目前市面上常見的遠距互動溝通工具如手機、視訊等,然而,前述遠距互動溝通工具皆是以語音與影像為主,缺乏互動溝通過程中最重要的環節-肢體互動。 有鑑於此,本研究提出以Kinect遠距連線體感電玩為基礎,發展新一代高齡者關懷互動平台,可僅能突破現有的語音與影像之互動關懷方式,讓高齡者與子女晚輩於遠端連線的虛擬場景中,以Kinect體感裝置操控虛擬替身進行肢體接觸,並設計各種互動策略,讓進行不同困難度的肢體接觸,在有趣的電玩中同時強化高齡者與子女晚輩的互動關懷,降低高齡者孤獨感。 本研究發展高齡者關懷互動平台未來可推廣到居家、高齡者養護中心或日間照護中心等,提升晚輩與高齡者的遠距互動,溫暖高齡者的心靈。

Most families in Taiwan are turning into ‘nuclear family’ where the elderly does not live together with young generation. The contact between the elderly and their family members are significantly reduced. For older adults to maintain contact or connected with their family members, audio and video based long-distance interactions like phone, Face Time, Skype, etc. are commonly employed. Such interaction media lacks a critical factor in communication, i.e., body interactions. This research proposes a long-distance interaction platform to enhance ‘connection’ between older adults and their beloved young kids. Two game scenes are synchronized through Internet so that both sides see the same game scene. The game scene contains two avatars that are manipulated by the elderly and their lovely kids through motion sensing devices. The elderly and their lovely kids drive the avatars to do body interactions in the virtual environment. Also game playing strategies are design to achieve different levels of body interaction difficulties. The new long-distance interaction techniques can help elderly people home, elderly conservation center or day care center to feel more connections with their beloved young generations.
