無線區域網路(Wireless Local Area Network,WLAN)與整合封包無線電服務(General Packet Radio Service,GPRS),是目前被廣泛應用的兩大無線通訊技術。而Mobile IP則是由IETF所訂制的繞徑協定標準,使得行動節點不需變更IP位址與應用程式,便能夠漫遊於各個IP網路之下。 本論文採用Mobile IP通訊協定,整合GPRS網路與無線區域網路。以開放式作業系統 - Linux為核心,修改OpenGGSN與Dynamics Mobile IP套件,將GGSN與Mobile IP 的Home Agent (HA)整合成為張世杰博士所提出之具功能擴展之GGSN (Extended GGSN,EGGSN)之雛型。加上手機仿真器與行動節點之整合新節點,建構成張世杰博士所提出以EGGSN為基礎之無線區域網路與GPRS核心網路整合系統之雛型。 和其他類似研究相比,本系統具備,增加節點較少與更動原始網路較小的特點,更適合GPRS/3G與無線區域網路/WiMax網路間的整合。 本論文實做出EGGSN之雛形,以及新的手機仿真器,稱之為MSemu,來仿真重要的手機與行動節點之功能。而此新的手機仿真器可於GPRS網路與無線區域網路之間漫遊,並於元智大學GPRS核心網路仿真系統中實作成功。
Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) and General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) are extensively used wireless communication technology recently. Mobile IP is a routing protocol standard proposed by IEFT. It makes mobile node and application program can roam around IP networks without changing it’s IP address. This thesis integrates GPRS networks and WLAN with Mobile IP communication protocol. By incorporating Dynamic Mobile IP software into OpenGGSN, this study integrated GGSN and Mobile IP’s Home Agent (HA) to construct an Extended GGSN (EGGSN) prototype as proposed by Dr. Shih-Jeh Chang. This EGGSN prototype runs on open Linux operating system. Then by adding a new node constructed via integration of Mobile Station (MS) and Mobile Node (MN), we also constructed an EGGSN-based WLANs and GPRS core networks integration system prototype as proposed by Dr. Shih-Jeh Chang. As compared with other similar studies, we concluded that this integration approach requires that fewer nodes and smaller changes to the original networks. Thus, it is more suitable for GPRS/3G and WLAN/WiMax networks integration. In this thesis, we implemented an EGGSN prototype and a new Mobile Station Emulator, called MSemu, which emulates essential MS and MN functions. It has been verified on the Yuan-Zu University’s GPRS Core Network Emulation System that this new MSemu is able to roam between GPRS network and WLAN
