個人及影片衛教介入對配戴活動義齒者義齒滿意度及口腔健康相關生活品質之影響

The evaluation of oral and video health education on denture satisfaction and OHRQoL among removable denture wearers.

摘要


研究目的: 對於良好活動義齒衛生照護,是需要經由專業牙科工作人員指導和教育,本研究的目的在比較個人衛教和影片衛教二種教學方式,比較何種衛教教學方式對於活動義齒衛生習慣的養成,為最有效之教學模式,同時有助於提升義齒滿意度和口腔健康相關生活品質。 研究方法: 本研究採立意取樣及準實驗設計(quasi-experimental design),個人衛教加衛教單張為實驗組30人、影片衛教加衛教單張為對照組31人,進行義齒照護口腔健康教育介入,患者6個月後回診檢查,進行問巻資料收集,問卷內容含社會人口學資料、義齒滿意度量表、口腔健康衝擊量表(OHIP-14T),再以t-test、chi-squared test、複迴歸來比較分析。 研究結果: 本研究中在義齒治療完,進行個人衛教和影片衛教教學方式,樣本共61人,在接受義齒治療的患者,在清潔習慣中呈現無顯著差異,但在義齒滿意度總分在性别(P<0.05)和OHIP總分在衛教組别中(P<0.05),都有顯著差異,表示個人衛教組的OHIP會比影片衛教組好。 結論: 患者經由各種方式的義齒照護指導,都可以學習到義齒照護知識,但經由個人衛教指導的義齒照護,是有助於提升口腔健康生活品質,建議未來有學者可以設計一套完整的義齒照護的教材,讓牙科工作者可以更有效的指導患者,才能改善患者口腔健康生活品質。

Background: In recent years, the government has implemented a denture subsidy policy, which has greatly increased the population of wearing dentures. However, the knowledge of oral care still needs to be improved. When patients receive denture treatment, they always have the problem to clean it properly. I would like to figure out which kind of oral health education method can be the best guide of the denture cleaning ,and whether different oral health education methods can improve the denture satisfaction and oral health related to quality of life. Objectives: Good care of removable dentures requires guidance and education by professional dental staffs. The purpose of this study is to compare two teaching methods, which are individual education and video education, and to find out which of them is the best way to keep the removable denture clean and help to improve overall denture satisfaction and oral health related to quality of life at the same time. Methods: This study adopted the intentional sampling and quasi-experimental design. The individual health education as the experimental group (30 people), and the video health education as the control group (31 people). Oral health education was intervened, and the patient returned to the clinic 6 months later for a questionnaire. The questionnaire included sociodemographic data, denture satisfaction scale, oral health impact profile (OHIP-14T)The t-test, chi-squared test, multiple linear regression were used for comparative analysis. Result: In this study, after the denture treatment, two different methods of hygiene education were conducted. A sample of 61 patients who received denture treatment showed no significant difference in cleaning habits. However, the denture satisfaction total score scale showed significant difference in gender (P<0.05) and OHIP total score (P<0.05), The OHIP total score of individual health education group is better than the video health education group. Conclusion: Patients can learn to do the denture care through many ways of denture care guidance. However, denture care under the guidance of personal hygiene education may help to improve the quality of oral health and life more. It is recommended that scholars in the future can design a complete set of denture care teaching materials for dental professionals and staffs to guide the patients more effectively thus improve the quality oral health.
