The story of the play took place in Ming-Shin Hall in Taichung Country, where the Holy Monk Ji-Gong (濟公), who hadn't descended for two weeks, met the Saint Granny Meng (孟婆). The dialogues between the two deities reflected their observations on people who worshiped and served them. The master (the incarnation body of Monk Ji-Gong), the translator-assistant Lim-e (林仔), the worshippers Tsin-Tsai (進財) and A-Hun (阿雲) gathered in front of the altar, telling their prayers and wishes. My report comprises discussions on ideas of the story, the space-time background and characterization, the progress of the different versions of the play, and the use of Taiwanese dialect.
