意識地獄-自覺的剎那: 動畫裝置作品《慾》之創作論述

摘要


本碩士論文作品-用動畫呈現的錄影裝置作品《慾》,是以3D動畫呈現的非線性影像,並為筆者先前兩部關係動畫作品A Dummy Named Desire與《饕餮》(Gluttony)的最終呈現。內容試圖呈現一種如夢遊般的精神狀態-當慾望凌駕一切,精神與肉體是分離的,如睜眼白日夢般的存在,是一種意識突然抽離的異空間。筆者用《神曲》中的煉獄架構作為這些白日夢的索引,並在空間中構築出各自獨立的動態的靜止畫面:它們各自代表了一種情緒,對照於各層地獄精神式的存在。 與地獄題材有著密切關連的文學鉅作-義大利詩人但丁的《神曲》中,認為靈魂因不當的慾望而墜入地獄,陷入無止境的輪迴以懲罰靈魂,特別在其〈地獄〉與〈煉獄〉兩章描述出形形色色的鬼怪世界。但丁的字裡行間除了包含道德批判的意味之外,更充滿各式各樣的象徵手法,於是歷史上出現許許多多與之相應而生的藝術,使《神曲》的研究與相關藝術作品自成一門學問與藝術,延伸出的視覺想像與意境遠大於文字本身。本作品也是奠基於其上,加入作者獨特的感受與畫面,企圖呈現情緒爆發時的意識地獄、剎那的夢境。 本作品是以Autodesk Maya製作的3D短篇動畫,並配合展示方式以呈現情緒爆發的瞬間凝結。筆者試圖融合七宗罪在但丁《神曲》〈煉獄〉中七個不同的氛圍,期盼觀者在觀看作品的同時感受自身的情緒地獄,使觀者、畫面、裝置與整個空間做結合。在作品展出之後,筆者針對包括製作方式、裝置設計、呈現形式等方面,檢討作品的影像結構與裝置的最終呈現,並討論未來創作類似作品時可改進的空間。

This video “Desire” is a 3D animation of non-chronicle images. It follows the previous films, “A Dummy Named Desire” and “Gluttony”, and makes a final image about the thesis. In this animation, I want to illustrate the spirit in a drifting form. When desire takes over from everything, there is a separation between body and soul like sleepwalking. By using the concept of Dante’s The Divine Comedy as the index for these daydreams, I create different spaces for each still image. Each one represents an emotional stage where reflect different level of hell. In Christian religion, one who commit mortal sins would cause his or her soul falls into hell and surfers by the cyclic punishment. The following question is what is Hell? In Inferno and Purgatorio, the first two parts of Italian poem Dante’s The Divine Comedy, there are specific description about the scenes and the punishment in hell. Despite The Divine Comedy is a religious morality tale, its allegorical vision inspires countless artists. Base on the Dante’s The Divine Comedy, I attempt to reveal the conscious hell in furious spirit. To present the moment of emotional outbreak, I used Autodest Maya to produce this animation, and assorted with the display in the exhibition. By infusing 7 different atmospheres of Dante’s Purgatorio in this film, the audience can experience their own emotional hell where makes an interaction between the audience, the image and the space. In order to make a better show in the future, I also have reviewed this exhibition, including the production, the display design, and the interaction with the audience.
