無線感測器在互動式藝術之系統建置

The System Construction of Wireless Sensors in Interactive Arts

摘要


互動式數位藝術已逐漸成為新媒體藝術中最流行的一個創作領域。無線感測器網路是近年國際上熱門探討的技術,可連接多項感測器,具運算、記憶、無線傳輸、…等功能與優點。我們將運用此技術,使展場中參與者的身份與行為被紀錄,不同參與者與作品間之互動行為會因身份資料不同而有不同之結果,同時參與者與作品的互動行為亦會被紀錄而再現成作品的一部份。此種互動介面設計將提供互動式藝術創作很大的發揮空間。本文將建置一個以無線感測器為主要核心技術的互動介面系統,以應用至互動式藝術作品。我們將選擇群蜂ZigBee技術為無線感測器,提出一套泛用型通訊模型以供互動裝置可與無線感測器網路銜接,透過簡化的系統,可讓互動裝置可以快速整合。本文亦將提出「一百萬個心跳」互動式數位藝術作品當作應用探討範例。藉本系統與作品之提出與探討,期拋磚引玉,使互動藝術創作者更容易運用無線感測器網路於藝術作品上。

Artists often use variety of programs of sensors for interfaces of interactive arts. They often use sensors to detect users' behaviors, and transform these behavior into interactions of arts. In the past years, in order to use these sensors, artists must rely on PCB and microcontrollers to transform these data which is generated by sensors into a new form which is suitable for artists to understand. By using computers to multiple these data, artists can generate output images or sounds to deliver messages of their art pieces. These PCB and microcontrollers are connected wired into these art installations and this has limited artists' creativity. Since the developments of wireless sensor network, these benefits of WSN just fulfill the needs of interactive art artists.It is wireless, cheap,low-power and flexible.By using wireless sensors, artists can bind the wireless sensors into all kinds of object in our environment and extend the possibilities of interface of interactive arts. We will discuss how to integrate and construct the system for wireless sensors in an interactive art piece, and evaluation the usage of wireless sensors in interactive arts.
