電影短片作品《海倫她媽》創作論述

《海倫她媽》為一部以同志家庭關係為題材的輕喜劇，由譚艾珍、謝欣穎、林辰唏主演，王莉雯編劇、黃靖閔導演，高雄電影圖書館、公共電視共同投資。影片描述生活在高雄的「海倫她媽」，在某一天意外發現獨生女兒海倫是個同志後，所產生的一連串荒謬行徑。二十一世紀的臺灣，從科學、法律等各層面上，社會已逐步的將同志「去污名化」，這些同志們努力爭取婚姻權的時候，家庭議題仍是許多人難以和平處理的議題。同志們面臨的困難除了父母本身之外，還有自身及父母身旁的三姑六婆、鄰居叔伯、以及其他親族長輩所給予的社會壓力。隨著科技日漸發達，越來越多同志朋友可以在青春期就找到出口，但是父母親受限於社會壓力、又不擅於使用網路，在對於孩子的性傾向感到困惑、煩惱時，難以找到清楚的資訊，更容易感到孤單。本片嘗試以簡明易懂的形式，從父母的觀點出發，描述「櫃父母」們在面對兒女出櫃的心路歷程，並穿插部分兒女心境，希望經由短片加上座談的形式，展開地方巡迴，拉近父母與兒女的關係。本論述就製片觀點出發，討論一部功能性強烈的短片從題材開發、資金募集、影片拍攝，一直到後製、宣傳推廣的製作流程；並經由地方巡迴的模式，期能突破「短片只有影展觀眾」的迷思，直接與一般觀眾接觸，了解社會對於此議題的真實想法，並進而了解此議題發展成其他媒材的可能性。

This thesis film Penguins at North Pole is a light comedy illustrating the queer family relationship, starring TAN Ai-Chen, Nikki HSIEH Hsin-Ying and Zaikai LIN, written by WANG Li-Wen and directed by Kassey C.M. HUANG with the support of Kaohsiung Film Archive and Public Television Service. The film depicts the life of Helen’s mother as she accidentally found out that her only daughter is a lesbian. In the 21st century Taiwan, though the overall society has gradually destigmatized the LGBT community scientifically and legally, family remains a realm of argument and disagreement, especially when it comes to the right of marriage. The stress comes not only from the parents but also neighbours and relatives. With the advancement of technology, LGBT community and group support become more accessible for people in or out of closet, even at adolescence. On the other hand, their parents are confined by convention of the society with less resource via internet, if any, therefore more confused, isolated and troubled when facing the reality of their children’s sexual orientation. This film has adopted a simple story and austere form to portray the psychological progression of parents dealing with their children’s coming-out from a parental viewpoint, as well as from the children’s. With the screenings of the short film, Q&A session and forums, the author aim to fill in the gap and facilitate the communication. This essay investigate, from a producer’s point-of-view, the workflow of a functional short film with distinct character, starting from story development, fund-raising, production, post-production and marketing. It also examines the model of screening on tour, which expands the exposure of the film and in direct contact with a wider range of audience. The genuine public feedback upon the related issue would allow the author to explore the possibility of developing the short film into other media or format.
