摘要

蕭邦是第一位使用敘事曲標題創作器樂曲的作曲家，其中的《第四號敘事曲》(Op.52)完成於他創作的成熟期，不僅融合了蕭邦多元的創作技巧，也展現出高度的藝術性。
此論文首先根據歷史文獻探討蕭邦生平的創作階段與敘事曲的歷史發展，接著經由樂曲分析，深入探究《第四號敘事曲》的創作手法，發現此曲結構複雜，巧妙融合了奏鳴曲式、變奏曲式與迴旋曲式，且在調性與和聲、旋律及複音對位手法均有蕭邦後期創作的特色，進而了解此曲的整體風格。最後藉由樂譜版本編訂比較(原典版、波蘭國家版、柯爾托版、帕德雷夫斯基版)，以及波蘭華沙蕭邦鋼琴大賽得主的演奏詮釋比較(阿敘肯納吉、齊瑪曼、阿芙蒂耶娃)，希望能更深刻的理解《第四號敘事曲》所欲表達的意念。

Chopin was the first composer to write a ballade as a title of an instrumental musical work. His Ballade No.4 (Op.52) was completed through his creative maturity where it does not only fuse his multi-dimensional artistic technique, but it also shows a high degree of artistry.
This study primarily discusses the life and composition of Chopin and reviews the origin and development of ballade based on some literature reviews. By analyzing Ballade No. Four’s composition techniques, we found out that this work fuses the sonata form, variation form and the rondo form. It also shows Chopin’s late creative features like harmony, melody and polyphony. Therefore, these aspects lead us to understand the overall style of the work.
Finally, comparisons of edited score versions were made (i.e. Urtext Edition, PWM-Nationall Edition , Cortot Edition, PWM-Paderewski Edition). Furthermore, winners of the Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, Poland (Vladimir Ashkenazy, Krystian Zimerman, Yulianna Avdeeva) were compared through their individual performances. With this study, the researcher hopes that the performer who plays Ballade No.4 would be able to have an in-depth knowledge about its content and the ideas it means to express.
