《多元世界之教與學》中譯本評析與翻譯研究

摘要


本研究評析《多元世界之教與學》之自譯中譯本並探討其中的翻譯策略,目的是透過翻譯的實踐、原文結構的分析、翻譯技巧的整合以及翻譯錯誤的檢視,提昇筆者的翻譯能力。本研究以漢斯.弗米爾目的論和奈達動態等效為理論基礎,透過理解、表達、校核的翻譯策略,達到忠實理解原文、通順表達譯文以極簡潔校核譯文的目標。本論文共分成六個章節。第一章說明本論文的研究動機、目的和方法。第二章為研究資料的收集與分類,將電子網路和實體書籍中所取得的資料加以整理分類,作為日後翻譯時的查詢工具。第三章簡介作者的學經歷背景和原著的大網,藉此掌握作者的寫作風格及精神,並說明本論文所使用的理論「目的論」、「等效理論」以及翻譯策略。第四、五章將翻譯理論、策略以及翻譯技巧實際應用於翻譯實例中,其中第五章為本論文的研究核心,主要是將筆者中譯本常犯的錯誤,例如詞義選擇、被動語態、長句譯法等等的錯譯,透過歸納與分析將不同學者但有相同論點的翻譯技巧先做說明,再將這些技巧有系統地應用於翻譯過程中。第六章為結論與建議,盼望本研究的結果可幫助翻譯初學者,從單字、句型到整個段落的分析能有整體的認知,更注意到各種不同翻譯技巧如被動語態、語序排列、分句法之應用,對於翻譯的學習上能有助益。

This study analyzes the translation strategies used in the Chinese translation of Teaching and Learning in a Diverse World by Patricia G. Ramsey and serves as a translation critique. Through the translation process, article analysis, integration of translation strategies, reflection on the translation mistakes, this study serves to enhance the researcher’s translation ability. The translation theories adopted by this study are Hans Vermeer’s skopos theory and Eugene Nida’s dynamic equivalence. Through the translation strategy – understanding, expressing, and checking, the researcher hopes to achieve the goal of understanding accurately, expressing fluently, and checking concisely. The study is divided into six chapters. Chapter One states the research motivation, purpose, and method. Chapter Two describes how the researcher collects and classifies research data from internet and physical books. The classified data serves as a useful tool for future translation. Chapter Three introduces the background of the author and the book of Teaching and Learning in a Diverse World. The researcher also describes the theories of skopos and dynamic equivalence. Chapter Four and Five offer examples to explain how to apply translation theories, strategies, and skills into practice. Chapter Five is also the focus of the study, in which the researcher offers a detailed account of translation strategies, such as strategies for translating words, sentences, and paragraphs. Chapter Six concludes that the results of the study help learners become more sensitive to various translation strategies, such as ways to deal with word orders, passive voice, and phrasing.
