Abstract This study was aimed to understand the development of career adjustment process, and the response to predicaments in working environment, of professional helpers in cooperative transition schools. Through the "whole-content" manner, a narrative data analysis method was conducted and discussed on the information gained from the semi-structure in-depth interviews with and the accounts of one’s life from three help workers, all Christians and with three-year work qualifications, from three cooperative transition schools. The results showed homogeneity in the career adjustment processes of the participants, in three aspects: Firstly, the cared/caring role in solving family difficulties in the early stage of a help worker’s life could be a solidifying career factor later in taking the long-term career commitment to cooperative transition schools. Secondly, faith could strengthen a helper’s confidence toward one’s own career in a cooperative transition school. Thirdly, personal value could impact on one’s decision in taking the helper career in cooperative transition schools. Also, the results showed the participants’ responses to predicaments in their working environment: To value the allied relationship in cooperative team members, to face frustrations in consoling work with empowerment from one’s expertise, and to have emotional support and stability from one’s families.
