The purpose of this thesis is to introduce the importance of corporate social responsibility (CSR) in high-tech industry’s supply chain. To achieve this goal, the present study introduces several well-known and global CSR-related standards and organizations, such as United Nation Global Impact, Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition (EICC), Global Reporting Initiatives (GRI) and so on. In addition, the paper mentions the effort of promoting CSR that government, non-profit organizations and media have done in Taiwan. The present study adopts Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited (TSMC) as a case to see that how the company applies CSR concepts in its supply chain. Finally, the study concludes all the findings and results. Also, offering some suggestions to Taiwan government and business to promote CSR.
