印度華語教學市場之回顧與前瞻

Review and Outlook of Chinese Learning in India

摘要


After nearly four years working in Taiwan Education Center in India since 2011, both curiosity and understanding of the progression of Chinese language education market are growing in the researcher’s mind. The purpose of this study was to review the development in India of Chinese language teaching/learning, along with its comprehensive circumstance. Another aim of the paper was to reconsider the effect of Taiwan Education Center in India, and to see if India is a commendable market for Taiwanese government constantly to invest in this market. Taiwan Education Center in India, as a semi-official organization with Taiwanese government’s backing, was used as a main subject with the application of Case Study in the study. As the biggest provider of Chinese language teachers in the world, as well as the richest investors of Chinese language education market, China is definitely playing the most competitive role against Taiwan in the global Chinese language market. However, Taiwanese fortuitously seem to be a much more friendly choice for Indians to learn Chinese language from. By the literature review, this scenario was discussed in the paper. In addition, the strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats of Taiwan Education Center in India were also analyzed for providing suggestions of making further strategies finally.
