Glauber Gluons in Pion-induced Drell-Yan Processes

摘要


我們討論了將 k_T 因子化定理應用在一個以玩具模型牽涉到純量粒子以及膠子為主、低 p_T 、強子-強子對撞的強子產生過程。對於高 p_T 強子對撞強子生成,k_T 因子化已經被證明會因在格勞伯區域的膠子而失敗,所以我們在 TMD 部分子密度仍然泛用的前提下還原了 k_T 因子化。這些過程確保了我們的下一個研究的成功:我們指出了格勞伯膠子的存在可導致林-董關係式的違反,也就是 π 介子誘發德瑞爾-顏過程中反常的輕子角度分布。在格勞伯膠子背景影響下,平衡輕子對橫向動量的輻射導致了相應的自旋-橫向動量相關。在π 介子中格勞伯效應顯著,是因為其既為南部-戈德斯通玻色子又為 qq ̄ 束縛態之獨特地位。同時,這機制也被和以真空效應以及布爾-穆得函數解釋的方法比較。我們提出在 GSI 以及 J-PARC 測量 pp ̄ 德瑞爾-顏過程,以鑒別這些解釋方法是否正確。

We discuss the applicability of the k_T factorization theorem to low-p_T hadron production in hadron-hadron collision in a simple toy model, which involves only scalar particles and gluons. It has been shown that the k_T factorization for high-pT hadron hadroproduction is broken by soft gluons in the Glauber region, so we restored the k_T factorization in the sense that a TMD parton density maintains its universality. These procedure guaranteed our next study, in which we point out that the existence of Glauber gluons in the k_T factorization theorem can account for the violation of the Lam-Tung relation, namely, the anomalous lepton angular distribution, observed in pion-induced Drell-Yan processes. Radiations, that balance the lepton-pair transverse momentum, cause the responsible spin-transverse-momentum correlation in the Glauber-gluon background. It is argued that the Glauber effect is significant in the pion due to its unique role of being a Nambu-Goldstone boson and a qq ̄ bound state simultaneously. This mechanism is compared to other resolutions in the literature by means of vacuum effects and Boer-Mulders functions. We propose to discriminate the above resolutions by measuring the pp ̄ Drell-Yan process at GSI and J-PARC.
