垂直整合對玻璃纖維布廠競爭力之分析—以A公司為例

摘要


摘  要 本文以台灣玻纖產業為實證研究對象,藉由了解產品應用特性、產品發展趨勢,以及產業結構,探討台灣玻纖產業廠商的佈局策略與其結果分析。主要引用公開資訊,佐證學理與參考前人的論文,探討長鞭效應發生在玻纖布產業的現象;並透過個案公司經營策略實務案例,分析玻纖布與紗的成本結構,探討垂直整合對於公司競爭力的影響。 本研究由玻纖產業的角度探討下列問題並提出建議。處於脈動速度慢的行業如何和脈動速度快的下游客戶合作?景氣波動大時,處於產業鏈上游的廠商如何因應長鞭效應?要克服原料占生產成本很高的玻布產業,策略上要如何應對?等等問題。另外環保意識的抬頭,當本身財務能力又不足以向後垂直整合時,這些影響一個公司競爭力因素的問題,本研究也嘗試一併討論。 研究結論為,電子級玻璃纖維業垂直整合具有穩定供料、降低成本的效果。但也必須專注於研究發展、製程改善、降低成本、倉儲管理和銷售以應付長鞭效應,尤其和產業鏈上下游夥伴的關係,都是競爭力重要的一環。整合成本、整合後綜效考量後,採取符合本身需要和能力的垂直整合策略,才能在景氣急速反轉中處存活。 關鍵字:垂直整合、長鞭效應、競爭力、供應鏈管理、脈動速度

Abstract This thesis focuses on the case study of fiberglass industry in Taiwan. Through understanding the characteristics of product application, the trend of product development, and the industrial structure, the overall strategy and the outcome in the companies of Taiwanese fiberglass industry will be analyzed. Mainly, public information is quoted as well as the proof of theories and previous studies to probe into the situation of bullwhip effect happened in fiberglass fabric industry. A case study of management practice and strategy will be included in order to analyze the cost structure between fiberglass fabric and yarn as well as the effect of vertical integration in competitiveness in the fiberglass industry. From the point of view of the fiberglass industry, this thesis tries to research the following questions and provide suggestions. In an industry, how should one cooperate with customers whose clockspeeds are faster? When economic environment fluctuates severely, how should the company in an upper position in a supply chain deal with the bullwhip effect? What strategy should be adopted to overcome the high material cost in the fiberglass fabric industry? Besides, this thesis also tries to discuss the issues, for example: how does a company which is under the pressure of environment protection problem and does not have sufficient financial ability to support a strategy of backward integration, that impact a company’s competitiveness. This thesis has following conclusions. Vertical integration in the electronic fiberglass industry has the effect of stabilizing material supply and reducing costs. However, a fiberglass fabric weaving company must also devote itself to R&D, process improvement, cost reduction, warehouse management, and sales to compensate for the bullwhip effect, especially the relationships with the back and forward partners in the chain since every function is an important part in gaining the competitive edge. The cost and synergy of integration must be considered when adapting a vertical integration strategy to meet the company’s necessity and capability.
