摘要

針對H.264/AVC主要規範的視訊，我們提出了一個參數解碼器以及全文自適應變動長度解碼器。我們的方法可以解碼協同因素(coefficient)而不需要使用記憶體來建置表格。在現有的公開文件中，這是第一個不需要表格記憶體的全文自適應變動長度解碼器。在100MHz的時脈下，我們所設計的全文自適應變動長度解碼器只需要15.7K的邏輯閘，其中協同因素解碼器(coefficient decoder)佔了3.4K。我們的硬體設計可以即時(real-time)解壓縮2Kx1K的畫面解析度以及30張畫面每秒的更新頻率。我們已經將所提出來的參數解碼器以及全文自適應變動長度解碼器整合進一個H.264主要規範視訊解碼器的原型中，並且呈現在一個系統單晶片多媒體的可程式化陣列閘上。

We propose a parameter decoder and a Context-based Adaptive Variable Length Decoder for H.264/AVC main profile. Our method performs coefficient decoding without using any table memory. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first memory-free CAVLD design in the literature. Based on the memory-free scheme, our design performs fast
CAVLD decoding with very low cost. It uses 15.7K gates (3.4K for coefficient decoder) and runs at 100 MHz for real-time decoding of 2Kx1K video at 30fps. We have integrated
the proposed parameter decoder and CAVLD into an H.264/AVC main profile decoder prototype on a multimedia SOC platform.
