For the equipment manufacturer, supplier and user in a supply chain system, it is beneficial for each partner for sharing spare part. If the stock level of a spare part is set too high, the holding cost will be huge, which will freeze the capital and thus might cause a financial problem. On the other hand, if the safety stock level is set too low, it may lead to a backorder and then cause a line-stop. Both will result in a business loss. Therefore, it is essential for determining an appropriate safety stock level for the manufacturer, supplier and user. It is very expensive for the equipment of some industries; when the equipment breaks down, it needs to repair rather than discard, hence developing an inventory model for the repairable spare parts is critical. This research mainly extends Sherbrooke’s VARI-METRIC model, which deals with the allocation problem of multi-indenture repairable spare parts. The extension is to explore the multi-supply models, which include parallel supply, feedback supply, and cross supply. Their results are proved to be better than the original model.
