MT型光纖連接器套管之CAE分析

摘要


在通訊、網路發達的現在,光通信為下一個更有效率之傳遞訊息的方式,未來研發的方向將逐漸由骨幹網路網朝向使用者端發展,如光纖到家光(Fiber to the Home)、光纖到桌(Fiber to the Desk)的概念,而要實現這些概念需要降低各項成本,如施工不易、成本過高等問題,其中將光纖與光源、光感應器或另一光纖連接、分離的光纖連接器,為重要的關鍵元件之一。目前光纖連接器的發展趨勢正朝向小型化(Small Form Factor)發展,未來在應用上將會非常普遍,本文研究的對象是MT型光纖連接器,此型式之光纖連接器也是小型化中的一種,其最關鍵的零組件-套管(Ferrule)為本文探討的重點,由於它的幾何形狀微小、尺寸精密度高,如何降低成本並提高尺寸精確度,為發展此型式光纖連接器的重點。 本文應用CAE軟體-C-MOLD、ANSYS的整合來預測塑膠光纖連接器套管於成型時,模具中微小Core Pin可能發生的變形,並利用田口方法探討影響變形量大小的原因並予以最佳化;另外,藉由三維模流分析軟體-Moldflow Plastics Insight (MPI),模擬MT-RJ型光纖連接器套管,於射出成型時塑流的流動情形,並討論套管模具中,微小Core Pin在不同澆口位置的設計,於充填時受到塑料影響,所可能產生的偏移或變形進行探討與預測。 關鍵字:光纖連接器、套管、Core Pin、Ferrule、CAE、田口方法、 3-D模流分析

Due to communication and Internet are so popular, light communication will become an efficient way of message transfer in the next generation. Backbone Architecture to the User will be the future trend for researches such as: Fiber to the Home and Fiber to the Desk. However, problems of construction difficulties and overspend prime cost are challenges that have to be overcome. Currently, optical fiber connector has become an important component that connects, divorces or reconnects the fiber, light source, light sensor and the other fiber ferrule connector. Nowadays, the wide use of small form factor fiber connector is foreseeable, while in the future it will be accepted in many fields. The tiny key component of MT-RJ connector, Ferrule, will be studied in this paper. Besides, how to reduce prime cost and increase precision will be a huge obstacle that has to be conquered. This paper integrates CAE softwares, C-MOLD and ANSYS, to predict the core-pin deformation that may occur during fiber ferrule connector molding. Furthermore, Taguchi method is used to optimize the deformation. To simulate the flow behavior while plastic material was injected into mold, the CAE softwares – 3D Moldflow Plastics Insight (MPI) and ANSYS will be integrated in this paper to study the molding of MT-RJ optical fiber ferrule. Besides, the deformation of core pin will be predicted and discussed while gating in different position.
