論文摘要 論文名稱:以策略矩陣分析法---對台灣臨床體外診斷檢驗試劑產業分析研究 校所組別:中原大學商學院企管研究所 研究生: 彭依賢 論文題要及內容: 臨床體外檢驗試劑業為國內發展生技業最重要的一環,由於進入障礙較製藥業來得低,故國內檢驗試劑廠商從最早期的少數幾家至今日呈10倍速成長。檢驗試劑業不但是國內生技廠商的最愛,同時也為台灣生技業競爭最激烈的戰場,其發展走向成為台灣生技產業重要指標。 體外檢驗試劑業起步較晚,整體產業供應鏈尚未形成,在面臨人才不足、經費短缺及認証管理鬆散等問題之際,卻必需面臨國際大廠專利侵權的挑戰,國內檢驗試劑業者的到底有那些競爭優勢?如何有集中資源、提升競爭力?又檢驗試劑業者面對如此環境條件,如何擬定策略以達成企業目標?為本研究之最主要動機。 為深入探討台灣臨床體外檢驗試劑產業「環境條件」與「企業策略擬定」之關係;本研究在產業分析方法上採用「產業矩陣分析」為主軸進行產業分析,結構性訪談產、官及學者,同時挑選三家典型公司(台灣元生、五鼎生技、晶宇生技)進行個案研究,從具體的「策略形貌之描述」開始分析,使企業策略思考很快就進入具體實務面,並與產業特性逐項對應,以解析及描述這些經營有成公司之競爭優勢,並對台灣臨床體外檢驗試劑業經營策略提出建言。 本研究發現,台灣臨床體外檢驗試劑業製程能力與產品差異化優勢有顯著相關;且有效的市場區隔定位、新產品開發與廠商競爭優勢有正相關。研究個案中亦發現,廠商掌握地區性檢體資源優勢,有利於創造區域性競爭優。最後,本研究亦形成「技術專利取得」與「商品化能力」做為正面相關推論,並提出應由政府以輔導政策,達成產業群聚之競爭優勢等建言,使台灣臨床體外檢驗試劑業能快速與國際接軌。 關鍵字:體外檢驗試劑、產業策略矩陣、策略形態

Abstract Clinical In Vitro Diagnostic Reagent industry is the most important component of domestic biotech industries in Taiwan. Owing to the lower entrance hurdle compared to that of pharmaceutical industry, the number of firms of domestic Diagnostic Reagent industry upsurges with a tenfold pace from just a few in the industry’s early period. The Diagnostic Reagent market is not only the most favorable for domestic biotech firms but also the most fiercely competing area within domestic biotech industries; the tendency of its development is a critical index for the future of biotech industries in Taiwan. With a later start-up, a through-industry supply-chain of In Vitro Diagnostic Reagent industry has not formed yet. As facing a deficiency of capable personnel, scarcity of capital, and loose management of certification system, Domestic Diagnostic Reagent incumbents simultaneously confront with challenges of potential lawsuits for infringing on patents belong to international big ones. What competitive advantages do these domestic firms have? How do they integrate resources in order to elevate competitiveness? And, when facing such environmental conditions, how do they forge the strategies to achieve their corporate objectives? These are the main motivation of this study. In order to deeply explore the relationships between “environmental conditions” and “business strategy formulation” of Clinical In Vitro Diagnostic Reagent industry in Taiwan, the study adopted the “industry strategy matrix analysis” approach as a pivot industrial analysis method to analyze the industry. First, the researcher conducted structured interviews with experts from industry, government, and academia, respectively; and selected tree typical firms from domestic Clinical In Vitro Diagnostic Reagent industry to implement case studies. A specific “description of strategic posture” was provided as a starting point of each case study, it helped prompt the strategic consideration into practical aspects. Then, a matrix was made in correspondence to industry’s characteristics item by item to analyze and portray the competitive advantages of the selected well-managed firm. Finally, the study made some implications and suggestions on the business strategy of Clinical In Vitro Diagnostic Reagent industry in Taiwan. The study found that:(1) There are a significant correlation between process capability and (2): product differentiation advantage in domestic Clinical In Vitro Diagnostic Reagent industry, and effective market segment and new product development both positively correlated with corporate competitive advantage. Through the case studies, the research also propose that a firm with dominance on local diagnostic resources are favorable to create a local competitive advantage. Finally, the study propose the inference that there are a positive correlation between “technology patents acquisition” and “commercialization”, and also provided the suggestion that the government has to help domestic firms consolidate an industrial cluster to attain the industrial competitive advantages in order to prompt domestic Clinical In Vitro Diagnostic Reagent industry fast tapping into global market.
