In conducting corporate financial analysis and evaluation of the process, earnings persistence is an important to evaluation. The purpose of this study, to test the special items earnings persistence, and consider conditional conservatism and unconditional conservatism for special items earnings persistence by public company and OTC companies from 2000 to 2010. Empirical results show without considering the conservatism, special items persistence low, meaning a temporary special items. After considering conservatism regardless of the conditional or unconditional conservatism showed higher degree, special items persistence low intent of companies with higher conservatism transitory earnings tend to be recognized immediately.
