The purpose of this study is to investigate how gifted junior-high-school students solve algebra problems through a creative thinking. The algebra problems were chosen based on the 7th-9th grade mathematical curriculum, including three topics: creative question-generating, classification, and algebra questions. When the gifted students solved these algebra problems, their different skills and applied strategies were inducted as problem-solving patterns, by which students can analyze similar questions systematically and solve them successfully in the future.
