論《真理與方法》中應用的他者向度

On the “Other’s” Dimension of “Application” in Truth and Method.

摘要


《真理與方法》一書中,「應用」不僅是一個抽象的概念,亦是詮釋或理解活動本身的一種樣貌,是詮釋活動中籌畫、思維的過程,並且還可視為倫理實踐過程的一種解析模式,故應用實有具體之「生活」向度。為理解此種「應用」,本論文由貫串於詮釋、思維、倫理等活動中的「他者」概念,作為理解、解析「應用」之鑰匙。此為本論文之要旨所在。 藉由《真理與方法》中文本的引領,本論文首先由作為本書中「應用」基本活動的詮釋活動中,解析出理解者、流傳物及詮釋情境三種基本元素,他們間互為他者、又融為一體的結構,以及由此結構展開的應用活動之基本模式。 其次,由理解的歷史性進一步刻畫流傳物作為他者的意義,及此在應用基本模式中將產生的動力。並以「他者」概念作為中介,將理解的歷史性與尼各馬可倫理學中的既成存在連接在一起,由此轉入對由實踐慧思貫串之倫理活動的探討。 接著,在倫理活動中,倫理意識、倫理情境、實踐慧思等基本元素的刻畫中,找到與應用活動的相接處,亦即倫理活動之為一種詮釋學應用,並同時充實了應用活動的實踐意義,及其結構中基本他者元素之自涉性、啟導性及伙伴性等性質。 最後,本論文指出,以上所刻畫出的應用活動之模式,可為「生活」的一種態度。這其中便可開出「應用」的宗教向度。

The “application” is not only an abstract concept in Truth and Method, but also a form of the understanding, a thinking process of the interpretation, and a kind of analysis of the ethical practice. The “application” contains a concrete dimension of “life”. In this study, the “other”, which is always living in interpretation, thinking, and ethical practice, is used as a key to analyze the “application”. In the beginning of this study, following the text in Truth and Method, we found three basic elements, the knower, the text, and the situation, in the interpretation which is how we know the “application” in basics. Each element is the “other” to the other two, but each of the three is also related to the others. The structure of the three forms the basic model of the activities of the “application”. Second, we knew more about the meanings of the text as the “other” from the historical dimension of the understanding, and therefore we found the motive power of the model of the “application”. After using the “other” as a mediate between the historical dimension of the understanding and “a being that is becoming” in Nicomachean Ethics, we started to discuss the ethical activities which are penetrated by the phronesis. Then, we found the connection between the “application” and the ethical activities by drawing out the basic elements of the ethical activities: the ethical consciousness, the ethical situation, and the phronesis. That is, an ethical activity is a kind of hermeneutical application, and the “application” is also ethical. Besides, the properties of the “other” in the basic elements of the “application” was drawn out: self-concerning, guiding, and companying. At last, we pointed out the model of the “application” could be a helpful way to understand the “life”. And then we can find a religious dimension of the “application”.
