以智慧型手機輔具偵測自閉症孩童駝背行為

摘要


或許對人們來說,與他人面對面、溝通交流來建立人際關係似乎是一件很自然、容易的事,但是對於自閉症的孩童卻是一項挑戰;當要與人互動時,他們有時候並不知道如何正確的溝通分享,身心發展上的障礙讓他們學習言語、社交溝通能力的進展緩慢,導致自閉症孩童常發生固著行為而孤立自己。本次的研究個案為特殊教育學校中的一名自閉症學生,當在進行團體活動或無人交談時,常會不自覺駝背,目前該名學生已有輕度的脊椎側彎。我們設計一支偵測駝背的系統搭載於智慧型手機上,搭配輔助式背心進行操作,將系統安裝於智慧型手機中開啟,放置在輔助式背心口袋裡,並讓該名學生穿上輔助式背心來判斷是否駝背。當產生駝背行為時,系統會進行判斷而發出警報提示直至孩童離開駝背的狀態,系統亦會儲存相關數據,幫助其改善方針的訂定。我們透過實地觀察與不斷地藉由回饋修正系統,讓本次研究除了得以改善該名學生的駝背行為與達到自我訓練的效果之外,亦減輕特教老師在叮嚀與教育學生方針上面的負擔。

To establish a good interpersonal relationship face to face seems to be natural and easy for people. But that was challenges for autism children; when they want to interact with others. They sometimes don’t know how to properly communicate and to share. That because the barrier on the mental and physical development to such an extent that they learn language, social communication ability in slow progress, and therefore cause autism children often occurs stereotypical behavior and isolate themselves. The research target in this case study was an autistic student at a special education school, who often unconsciously became hunchbacked during group activities or when not talking to people. Currently, this student is already exhibiting slight scoliosis. We designed a system for hunchback detection and uploaded it to a smart phone. Combined with an assistive vest for operation, the system was installed on a smart phone, which was then turned on and placed in a pocket of the assistive vest. When the student wore the assistive vest, the system could determine whether the student’s back was hunched. Whenever the system assesses that hunchback behavior has occurred, the system will make an assessment and an alarm is emitted until the student leaves the hunchback state. The system also stores relevant data to establish goals for setting improvement plans or initiatives. Through field observations and fine tuning the system in response to feedback, we not only improved the hunchback behavior of the student, even achieving self-training effects, but also reduced the constant reminders and education workload of special education teachers.
