A Research of Humanely Raised Space from the Post-Pandemic Era

With the progress of urbanization, the human world is gradually divided into two parts, one is the city and the other is the nature. Because of the distance from nature, the interaction between humans and animals is narrow and monotonous, and the connection between animals and human society is abstracted into the meat chops on the table, eggs in the basket, rare species in the zoo, and domestic pets. However, the space behind these animal lives is often overlooked. Humans use animals to meet various needs, but they rarely reflect on how to treat them. Animal welfare, animal rights, humane thoughts, these terms of animal protection in recent years, are all for the survival of animals, the environment. In terms of economic animals, from the past to the present, the animal raised space has gradually changed. Traditional grazing, early factory breeding, and now the friendly animal husbandry advocated. In addition to the consideration of the sanitary environment, humanitarian thought also contributed to this change. The global storm that broke out in 2020: the new coronavirus (COVID-19) has caused countries around the world to issue closure orders to avoid crowd contact and cause mass infections. Humans temporarily retreated from the urban stage, but unexpectedly let the indigenous peoples of the earth-wild animals, have returned to the silent streets; the environment is also slowly repairing due to the lack of human interference. In Europe and the United States, dog walking has become a few reasons for going out. When people are trapped in their homes, pets have become a bridge that can connect indoor and outdoor spaces. Spain even has a dog rental service to allow people to get a short respite outdoors. On the other hand, under the inconvenience caused by the limitation of people ’s activities, the urgency of the space is so painful, and it also makes people think that humans have kept many animals in small spaces in the name of love or use, such as Battery cages, Gestation Crate. People feel that space is not free for only a few weeks, and these animals are a lifetime. With the advent of the Post-Pandemic Era, let us think again about the necessity of the animal's breeding space and the living environment. This study explores how humane thinking affects the animal raised space and the changes it brings to society. It is expected to provide new insights into the relationship between humans and animals from the perspective of space. Therefore, this study aims to discuss the following: 1. The impact of humane thinking on animal raised space. 2. The significance of humanely raised space for society.
